Invite someone to join your organization, then assign the team membership and report access they need. Unity invitations are bound to the recipient's account email and expire after seven days.

An invitation creates a path to membership. It does not automatically share every company report.

Invite a person

  1. Open Organization & teams → People.
  2. Click Invite person.
  3. Enter the recipient's exact email and choose the permitted management role.
  4. Save the invitation.
  5. Copy its invitation link and share that link with the intended recipient.

Organization managers can invite ordinary members; appointing an Owner requires Owner authority.

Unity does not send an invitation email automatically. Registered recipients can also see pending invitations in their organization workspace.

Accept an invitation

  1. Open the invitation link.
  2. Sign in or register using the invited email address.
  3. Complete any required account email verification.
  4. Use Review & join, or open Review invitation in the invitation inbox.
  5. Review the organization and role, then accept.

Acceptance checks the authenticated email, expiration, revocation, the inviter's current authority, the organization/team state, and the account's existing organization.

An account can belong to one active organization. Membership in another organization can prevent accepting the invitation until that membership is resolved.

Review or revoke invitations

Open People → Sent invitations to inspect status and expiration. Revoke a pending invitation when it is no longer intended.

A revoked or expired link cannot establish new membership. Create a new invitation when a fresh invitation is appropriate.

An accepted invitation cannot be replayed to restore someone who has since been removed.

Add the person to teams and reports

After the person joins:

  1. Open the intended team and click Add member.
  2. Choose the member and review their management role.
  3. Set their separate Report access when View is insufficient.
  4. Share the relevant report directly or with that team.

New and re-added team members start with View report access. A team management role does not automatically promote it.

See Teams and Sharing and access.

Leave or remove membership

The People and team member directories provide Leave for your own membership and Remove where you can manage another member.

Before removing an organization member, resolve sole active team ownership. The last active organization or team Owner cannot leave or be demoted until another Owner is appointed.

Offboarding preserves company report and source records. It removes organization/team membership, revokes pending invitations to that email, and revokes applicable direct company-report grants.

Understand what rejoining does

Rejoining does not resurrect old ownership, individual report shares, or team roles. Add the intended memberships and grants explicitly.

This remains true when external sharing is allowed. An old invitation or historical grant is not a shortcut around a completed offboarding action.

Workflow
A member leaves the organization.
Their company access is revoked.
They later accept a new valid invitation.
They are a member again, but old report ownership and shares do not return.

Personal reports remain distinct from company reports. Review Report ownership when responsibilities need to be transferred.

Resolve ownership before account deletion

Hard account deletion can be blocked by active organization membership or live company report/source dependencies. Transfer or recover report responsibility and resolve retained connections before attempting account removal.

An organization Owner can recover a known company report to a current member with an audit reason. Recovery is an explicit operation, not automatic access for every administrator.

Troubleshoot an invitation

Organization settings and invitation acceptance use browser sign-in rather than a personal API key and do not require an active report subscription.
