Navigate the report workspace — Unity Intelligence

The report workspace brings pages, data, conversations, filters, and inspection into one place. Use the app panel on the left to choose the workspace area and the surrounding panels to focus an edit or explore a result. The panel button at the top left shows or hides the app panel.

The controls available to you depend on your report role and the selected page or visual.

Find the main areas

Report Pages and HTML Pages	In the app panel: select a page to view and edit it; add, edit, duplicate, delete, or manage the visibility of pages.
Data model	In the app panel: manage report connections and browse or edit this report's source queries, fields, definitions, and relationships.
SQL playground	In the app panel: run and save read-only queries in SQL Playground.
Connections, Documentation, API access & sessions	In the app panel: these open over the report, which stays loaded; Back to report returns to it.
Data Chat	Ask questions and build or refine the report.
Assistant / Adjust / Data inspector	Work with selected native or HTML visual context.
Filters	Inspect and edit the applicable filter scopes.

A selected source focuses query editing. The report model remains the analytical namespace across attached sources; selecting a different source does not retarget existing queries.

HTML pages replace native creation controls with their Source and Refresh live data controls; Version history is the same on both kinds. Chat can create their datasets and visuals.

Select and inspect objects

Click a visual to inspect it. Native canvas selection supports multiple objects, including modifier-key selection and selection gestures. Use the selected set in a chat request when you want a coordinated edit.

On a report page with other people in it, a selected chart shows others "Selected by" you, and "is editing" appears only while you drag or resize it or have unsaved changes in its settings; the chart is then yours for a few seconds after you stop, and never for more than five minutes without a saved change. If a change is refused because someone else is editing, it is kept as "Not saved"; Save again is refused if the chart changed in the meantime, and you reapply the change in the chart's settings.

The inspector keeps presentation and data controls close to the selected object. Adjust exposes supported properties and a read-only, plain-language view of the visual's fields; HTML visuals use their dataset selector and query editor. Data shows the relevant data context.

Inspect every selected visual. Align their formatting and titles with
the report instructions, then explain which objects were updated.

Selection at submission time accompanies the message. Clicking a different object afterward does not change the targets of an active run.

Arrange the workspace

Expand, collapse, or resize available panels to give the page or conversation more room. Minimize Data Chat when you want to inspect the report, then restore it without starting a new conversation.

The page list separates native and HTML pages. The conversation list organizes named chats associated with the report.

Moving a panel changes your working view. It does not resize a native page's saved canvas, which defaults to 1,280 × 720. Zoom changes its display scale. Native object movement/resizing and an explicit page-size edit can be saved. HTML pages follow their authored responsive layout.

Use editing and presentation modes

There is no lock to switch on: where your role permits it, you edit, and when someone else is working on the same chart or page you see who, in the page itself. See Edit together.

Preview page opens the presentation experience: the page alone, without the app header or panel. A small bar with the page picker and Edit shows briefly and returns when you move the pointer to the top edge of the screen. Press Esc to return to editing.

Preview does not grant or revoke access. A person with View permission does not gain editing rights by changing a layout preference. See Sharing and access.

The workspace has no undo: Ctrl/Cmd+Z undoes typing in text boxes and editors only. To go back, restore a version from Version history.

Understand disabled controls

A control may be unavailable because you lack editing access, no page or connection is selected, a save is in progress, or the action does not apply to that page type.

Invisible pages remain visible to editors but can only have their visibility changed by report Owners or Admins. Organization and team roles do not substitute for report permissions.
