Navigate the report workspace — Unity Intelligence

The report workspace brings pages, data, conversations, filters, and inspection into one place. Use the header to choose the workspace area and the surrounding panels to focus an edit or explore a result.

The controls available to you depend on your report role and the selected page or visual.

Find the main areas

A selected connection controls current data browsing. Existing visuals and HTML datasets retain their own saved connection.

HTML pages replace native creation controls with their relevant Source, Refresh live data, and Page history controls. Chat can create their datasets and visuals.

Select and inspect objects

Click a visual to inspect it. Native canvas selection supports multiple objects, including modifier-key selection and selection gestures. Use the selected set in a chat request when you want a coordinated edit.

The inspector keeps presentation and data controls close to the selected object. Adjust exposes supported properties and SQL; HTML visuals use their dataset selector and query editor. Data shows the relevant data context.

Inspect every selected visual. Align their formatting and titles with
the report instructions, then explain which objects were updated.

Selection at submission time accompanies the message. Clicking a different object afterward does not change the targets of an active run.

Arrange the workspace

Expand, collapse, or resize available panels to give the page or conversation more room. Minimize Data Chat when you want to inspect the report, then restore it without starting a new conversation.

The page list separates native and HTML pages. The conversation list organizes named chats associated with the report.

Moving a panel changes your working view, not the data definition. Native canvas movement and resizing change report objects and can be saved.

Use editing and presentation modes

On native pages, Lock view mode prevents accidental layout editing; Unlock edit mode restores editing controls where your role permits them.

Preview page opens the presentation experience. Use the header page selector to navigate and Edit to return when available.

A locked view does not grant or revoke access. A person with View permission does not gain editing rights by changing a layout preference. See Sharing and access.

Text editors can handle their own editing shortcuts. Use the visible controls when focus is in a source or query editor and you intend to restore a report-level change.

Understand disabled controls

A control may be unavailable because you lack editing access, no page or connection is selected, a save is in progress, or the action does not apply to that page type.

Invisible pages remain visible to editors but can only have their visibility changed by report Owners or Admins. Organization and team roles do not substitute for report permissions.
